Privacy Policy
Who we are
ORTX (ortx.com.au) designs and manufactures custom 3D-printed orthotics in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Waitlist and contact details — if you join the ORTX Flow waitlist or contact us, we collect your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
- Usage data — we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location by country, device type). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you.
How we use it
- To let you know when ORTX Flow launches and share related updates.
- To respond to enquiries.
- To improve the website and our products.
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with service providers that help us operate (for example, our database and email providers), under confidentiality obligations.
Health information
The public pages of this website do not collect health information. Health information is collected only through the practitioner portal and the ORTX Pro app, described below, and through the ORTX Flow app under the consent presented in that app.
ORTX Pro app and practitioner portal
ORTX Pro (iPhone and iPad) and the practitioner portal on this website are used by registered podiatrists and other health practitioners to order custom orthotics from our lab. Accounts are applied for on this website and approved by us before the first order. Through them we collect:
- Practitioner details — your name, practice, email address, phone number and an account identifier, used to run your account, approve it and keep in touch about orders.
- Patient details — the patient's name or an anonymous reference of your choosing, date of birth, and optional email address and mobile number for re-order reminders.
- Clinical information — the presenting condition, the orthotic prescription (the "script"), clinical notes to the lab, 3D foot scans captured in the app or uploaded from a clinic scanner, and an optional photo of the patient's footwear.
- Order and payment records — the orders placed, their production status and whether they have been paid. Card payments are handled by Stripe; card numbers never reach ORTX.
We use this information for one purpose: to design, manufacture and deliver the orthotic to the practitioner's prescription, and to support and invoice the practitioner's account. It is linked to the practitioner's account. We do not use it for advertising, we do not track users across other apps or websites, and we do not sell it. The practitioner is responsible for obtaining the patient's consent before entering their information.
Data is stored in Australia (Sydney) with our database provider, and shared only with the service providers needed to operate the service: database and file hosting, email delivery, and Stripe for card payments. Clinical records are kept for as long as Australian health-record retention rules require, then deleted. A practitioner can delete their account from the app (Dashboard → Delete account) or by emailing us; this removes the account and personal details, while order records we are legally required to keep are retained in de-identified form where possible.
Storage and security
Your information is stored with reputable cloud providers using industry-standard security. We keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time, or unsubscribe from updates using the link in any email. Contact us at admin@ortx.com.au. If you have a privacy concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the latest revision.
